Speak up for Nosey the elephant
The Liebling Bros. Circus is a small circus that travels with one female elephant named Nosey, as well as horses and monkeys. In December 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture formally charged the circus with numerous violations of the Animal Welfare Act for inhumane treatment and dangerous handling of Nosey and the monkeys (click here to learn more).

Have a heart, adopt don't buy for Valentines Day!
Help ARFF encourage shoppers to have a heart and adopt, not shop, during ARFF's ongoing Rally 4 Pups! Puppies sold in pet stores typically come from breeding facilities ("puppy mills") where over-breeding, inbreeding, minimal veterinary care, and crowded cages are common. Puppy mills contribute to the pet overpopulation problem which results in millions of unwanted dogs killed at shelters every year.
Date and Time: Tuesday, February 14 at 4:30pm
Location: The Puppy Spot, 2515 E Colonial Drive, Orlando (map)
Signs and leaflets will be provided, all we need is you. Please invite your friends and family as well; all ages welcome! |

Rodeo protest (and brunch!)
Every national animal protection organization is opposed to rodeo because of its inherent cruelty. Bucking straps, spurs, electric prods, and tail twisting are all painful ways of forcing animals into aggressive behavior. Rodeos consider animals to be cheap and expendable. They are used time and again before their bruised and battered bodies end up at the slaughterhouse.
Please take some time out of your busy day to speak up for animals tortured in rodeos.
Date and Time: Sunday, February 19 from 12:30-2:00pm
Location: Osceola Heritage Square Park, 1875 Silver Spurs Lane, Kissimmee (map) Activists will gather along Highway 192 at the main entrance to the arena.
Signs and leaflets will be provided.
If you would like to carpool, please join us at Ethos Vegan Kitchen for brunch at 10:30am and hop a ride to the protest. If you plan to attend, please contact ArffCentralFl@arff.org. |
