How to Enter

$1000 in Prizes Awarded to Florida Students

As a project of Wildlife Conservation Through Compassionate Living, ARFF encourages students to actively search out and evaluate information regarding animals used for entertainment.

Through research and creative writing, students in grades 2 through 12 are asked to submit entries on a topic involving the use of animals for entertainment purposes (i.e. circus, rodeo, TV, film, etc.). Students are encouraged to express their feelings and ethical opinions, as well as convey accurate information regarding the chosen subject.

First place and runner-up prizes will be awarded to students who have submitted the most well thought out and researched essays, presented with the most depth and feeling.

Essays will be evaluated in three seperate groups categorized by high school students, junior high students, and elementary level students. Submissions from high school students should be no longer than 1,000 words, while junior high and elementary level submissions should be no more than 500 words.

Entries must be submitted no later than April 1st, 2005 and should include a cover sheet with your name, address, telephone number, age and your school.
