Rodeo animal abuse to benefit wildlife sanctuary?!
December 31st, 2006 by admin
Next weekend (Jan. 6-7), the “Professional Bull Riding Challenger Tour” will visit the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds in Ft. Pierce. Again this year, proceeds from the event will benefit the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter.
In bull riding events, animals are physically provoked into displaying “wild” behavior through the use of bucking straps or electric prods. Every major animal welfare organization in America is opposed to rodeos.
We understand that it is difficult to raise funds to support wildlife rescue, but it is inappropriate (to say the least) to link an organization that works to help injured animals with a violent activity that often results in injury to animals!
Please contact the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and politely urge them to reconsider their involvement in this cruel and exploitive event.
