Sheriff targets dogfighting
October 15th, 2007 by admin
On Saturday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office kicked off an animal fighting awareness campaign. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw has assigned two investigators to target dog fighting in Palm Beach County. “We’re simply not going to tolerate animal abuse, ” said Sheriff Bradshaw. “If you teach kids to treat animals with respect, they are less likely to do harm to other human beings.”
Animal fighting (dogfighting and cockfighting) is a felony in Florida. ARFF offers a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrests in cases of animal fighting. Visit our website for details.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office has prosecuted 41 animal fighting cases since January 2003.
Please send a quick thank you to Sheriff Bradshaw for recognizing the seriousness of animal fighting.
