“Pet” tigers rescued from starvation

By coincidence, the St. Petersburg Times report came out on the same day that they reported the rescue of a lion and five tigers from a property in Inverness. Late on Friday, state wildlife officers removed the big cats from the property of Susan MacKay, who used to run a roadside zoo (Wild Bill’s Airboat Tours and Wildlife Park) with her late husband.
The FWC described the animals as “extremely malnourished.” Reportedly, officers found the cut-up body of a tiger in a freezer. Ms. MacKay may have been feeding the dead tiger to the living. She is facing several criminal charges.
