Animals may get a break from the “9 to 5″

The sign has gone dark and the parking lot is empty at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, a dinner theater in Orlando. The attraction closed its doors on Monday and gave pink slips to 162 employees. We can’t say that we’ll miss the place.
Live buffalos, “chicken chasing” and ostrich racing were part of the daily shows at the Dixie Stampede. Although animals will no longer be harassed for the amusement of the audience in Orlando, the future of the buffalo, ostriches and other animals is uncertain.
Ask Dolly to retire the former performing animals to a sanctuary.
