More trouble for the old guys with the fez hats

Even if you did not care that the Shriners are the largest sponsors of circuses in America- or that they regularly hire circuses with horrible records of animal abuse and neglect- it has become clear that the Shriners of North America is not a charity that you should trust with your donation.
An article in today’s New York Times is only the latest to expose corruption and waste within the organization. The article noted numerous “improprieties at some of the 191 local temples affiliated with the Shrine, including the commingling of charitable and noncharitable assets and the disappearance of money raised for the hospitals.”

Please visit our website for a list of Shrine temples in Florida that sponsor animal circuses. Please contact a temple near you and tell them that a good first step in saving the deteriorating reputation of the Shriners would be to replace circuses with non-animal fundraisers.
