Legislation to outlaw sexual activities involving animals off to an encouraging start!
February 23rd, 2009 by admin
Florida legislators will not officially get to work until March 3, but last week in Tallahassee the Senate Criminal Justice Committee held an interim meeting during which they passed a bill to prohibit the sexual abuse of animals. The vote was unanimous. The bill, S448, is now before the Senate Agriculture Committee.
Bestiality is explicitly forbidden in most U.S. states, but not in Florida. This year legislation has been introduced to strengthen Florida’s animal cruelty statute and give law enforcement the tools they need to combat this disturbing crime.
