Amendment 3 to determine the future of animal initiatives in Florida
September 18th, 2006 by admin
In yesterday’s Tallahassee Democract, columnist Paul D. Harvill wrote a strong piece opposing Amendment 3, the big business-supported effort to make it harder for Florida citizens to amend the state constitution.
Harvill called the efforts by the Florida Chamber of Commerce and its corporate supporters pushing the amendment, “reprehensible and deceptive.”
He continued, “What they want - the passage of Amendment Three - would give more power to the legislators and governor, whom the Chamber and its members can more easily ‘buy’ or ‘rent’ than the people of Florida. . . . The Florida Chamber of Commerce members would be the ones negatively impacted by its passage, not the vast majority of Floridians.”
