Miss Florida USA gets ugly
May 21st, 2009 by admin
If you happened to drive past ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood early last Saturday, you would have seen an odd sight- a group of young women modeling fur coats. Saturday was a “pre tape session” for delegates of the Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA pageants. The Fur Information Council of America, a fur industry trade group, is a sponsor of both pageants and provides fur coats as “prizes” for the winners. The cruelty and ugliness of fur has no place in a beauty pageant.
Please contact the producer of Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA and ask that 2009 be the last year that fur is included in the pageants.

Mark your calendars! Please plan to join us outside the pageant finals on Saturday, July 18 at Broward Community College’s Bailey Hall in Davie.
I think that wearing fur is disgusting. You would think that people who usually squeal and run in terror from a bug or snake would be apalled at the thought of wearing something elses skin. but you know what they say, beauty is only skin deep
I commented on that video and told them that I thought they were gross! I’m ashamed to be a florida girl right now!
