“Heartbreak at 45 mph”

capture.JPGThe cover story in this week’s New Times Broward-Palm Beach is an excellent look at the greyhound racing industry.

Earlier this year, reporter Michael Mooney adopted a retired 4-year-old greyhound- who came from the track with missing teeth and a limp from a broken leg. The article follows the reporter’s search for answers to questions like, “What did my dog go through before she came to me?”, “What happened to the other dogs from her litter?” and “What really happens to greyhounds that aren’t adopted when they’re done racing?”

If you live in South Florida, make sure you grab a copy of the free paper. The article can also be found online here.
