Halloween shouldn’t be scary for animals

Everyone knows that for kids to be safe on Halloween, they should never eat unwrapped candy and always travel in groups, preferably with an adult.
But with Halloween just a couple days away, here are a few tips to keep your companion animals safe as well:
• Keep dogs and cats confined to a closed bedroom, so they have no chance of running out the front door each time it’s opened for trick or treaters
• Don’t take dogs trick or treating. Normally docile dogs may be spooked by strange costumes or screaming kids, and bite a child
• Never give candy to animals – chocolate can be especially toxic
• Don’t leave animals in the yard where pranksters can harm them
• Keep cats (especially black cats) indoors at all times
• Keep animals away from electric decorations and candles
Have a safe Halloween!
