Fur-free shopping = friendly shopping

Last week, the National Retail Federation announced its list of top 10 retailers for customer service (the top 10 were selected by surveying 8,500 shoppers). It appears that avoiding the cruelty of fur also means an enjoyable shopping experience.
The national retailers on the list include JC Penney, Lands’ End, LL Bean, Coldwater Creek, HSN and the online retailers Overstock.com and Zappos. All of these company’s do not sell animal fur.
Conspicuously absent from the top 10* are the department stores Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus-all of whom continue to sell the skins of tortured mink, foxes and other animals.
Earlier this year, JC Penney became the first major department store chain to go fur-free. Starting your holiday shopping at JC Penney would be a great way to thank the company! (Click here for a list of other fur-free retailers.)
*One exception is Nordstrom, which was included in the top 10. Click here for details on how to contact Nordstrom and request that they stop selling fur.
