Last week, a television station in Virginia reported on a visit by the Cole Brothers Circus. The report quoted a circus employee (Elvin Bale) who complained about the effectiveness of animal rights activists, “They write dozens and dozens of letters. And they try their hardest to keep us out of a lot of the malls and lot of the venues that we have played in for 30 and 40 years. Just because we have the elephants.” The report said that Cole Bros. is considering dropping elephants from their traveling show (a few years ago, Cole Bros. announced an end to the elephant act, only to bring it back this year).

Let’s push Cole Bros. to discontinue their elephant act, one and for all. The Cole Bros. Circus will be performing soon at three malls in Florida’s Panhandle. Please contact the malls and ask them not to allow elephants and other exotic animals on their property. Explain to them how animals in the circus suffer from constant travel, abusive training, and social isolation (click here to read more about the circus).
