Children learn about the violence of hunting

Despite recent school shootings around the country, some hunters in Florida apparently see nothing wrong with shooting guns near schools.
Elementary and high schools in Alachua County were placed on lockdown for two hours Wednesday morning “after a parent noticed a man walking in the vicinity of the schools with what appeared to be a shotgun,” the Gainesville Sun reported. Sheriff’s deputies located the man, who explained that he was hunting squirrels.
In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, two men shot a squirrel in a tree 40 feet from an elementary school in Gilchrist County, causing the school to be locked down until the hunters were located.
