Compassion for all creatures
November 2nd, 2010 by admin
This Saturday (Nov. 6), Highlands Christian Academy, a private school in Pompano Beach, is holding it’s annual Fall Festival. The day will include face painting, a bounce house, a beach volleyball tournament and live music. Unfortunately, the festival will also feature a greased pig chase.
During pig chasing events, children are encouraged to chase, grab and dive on top of the pigs. The events are terrifying experiences for the animals. It is not uncommon for pigs to be injured during the events.
Please contact Highlands Christian Academy and urge the school to find an alternate activity that is fun for children but doesn’t put animals in harm’s way.
