U.S. Senate considers federal ban on trade in pythons

Today, the U.S. Senate returned to work following their Thanksgiving break. One bill that the Senate may consider before the end of the legislative session is Senate Bill 373, which would halt the import and commercial trade in pythons.
Banning the import and interstate trade in pythons is a common-sense move that would benefit animal welfare, improve public safety and protect Florida’s fragile environment.
S.373 is sponsored by Florida Senator Bill Nelson, but Florida’s other U.S. Senator, George LeMieux, has not stated his position on the bill. Please contact Senator George LeMieux and urge him to support Senate Bill 373:
