A good week for animals
February 15th, 2011 by admin
Animals have two reasons to celebrate this week (and the week is not over yet!).
On Tuesday night, the Lake Worth City Commission adopted a groundbreaking ordinance that prohibits the sale of dogs and cats at pet stores. With the ordinance, Lake Worth becomes the first city in the State of Florida to take a strong stand against the sale of animals from out-of-state puppy mills. The vote was unanimous.
Please thank the City Commission for their vote!

On Monday, Amerijet International confirmed that it had stopped transporting primates (read Amerijet’s letter to ARFF here). Amerijet joins a growing list of airlines that were once carriers of primates but who now refuse to transport primates for the research industry. Thank Amerijet for their compassionate decision!
