Record-breaking circuses (for all the wrong reasons)
November 29th, 2011 by admin
During Cole Bros. recent tour of Florida, ARFF spread the news that the circus’ $150,000 fine for violating the Endangered Species Act was the largest ever against a circus. And it was, until this week when it was announced that Ringling Bros. will pay $270,000 to settle allegations that it violated the Animal Welfare Act (the violations include elephants forced to perform when they were ill). Visit ARFF’s website for details of opening nights protests against Ringling Bros. in West Palm Beach, Tampa, Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville.
