(March 2008) After 5 years and over 5,000 surgeries,
ARFF has made the difficult decision (though one we’re really
happy about) to donate our Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic to PETA in
Norfolk, Virginia. In the end, the fiscal realities of South Florida
made it impossible to continue doing free and low cost spay/neuter
surgeries. It was a struggle from the beginning to find vets in
this area who would perform these operations at a reasonable cost,
and it ultimately became almost impossible. While we are sad to
see this effort come to an end, we are pleased that over the past
5 years we have performed thousands of spay/neuter surgeries—
thus preventing the birth of hundreds of thousands of unwanted
animals. A huge thank you to all who contributed their time and
money to this project!
